Tiny Taste Buds Standards of Behavior

Effective: July 10, 2026

Our Purpose

At Tiny Taste Buds, we believe children learn best when they feel safe, curious, capable, and celebrated.

Our Standards of Behavior reflect our commitment to creating playful learning experiences for every kiddo while fostering a culture of professionalism, respect, collaboration, and continuous growth.

These standards guide every class we teach, every interaction we have, and every decision we make.

1. Curiosity Builds Confidence

We create an environment where children feel safe to explore new foods without pressure or judgment. Every child learns at their own pace, and every step forward is worth celebrating.

We:

  • Invite participation without forcing it.

  • Use encouraging, respectful, and positive language.

  • Honor each child's comfort level and readiness.

  • Celebrate every brave bite, smell, touch, question, and discovery.

  • Recognize effort as much as outcomes.

  • Avoid comparisons between children

2.  Joy and Play Inspire Learning

We believe children learn best when they are engaged, having fun, and actively participating. Joy creates connection, lowers anxiety, encourages curiosity, and helps children build confidence in trying new things. Through play, creativity, movement, and exploration, we transform learning into an experience children look forward to.

We:

  • Create joyful, welcoming classrooms where every child feels excited to participate.

  • Incorporate movement, storytelling, music, games, art, and imaginative play into each lesson.

  • Encourage curiosity through exploration rather than instruction alone.

  • Celebrate laughter, creativity, and self-expression as valuable parts of learning.

  • Meet children where they are and adapt activities to support different personalities, abilities, and learning styles.

  • Recognize that meaningful learning happens when children feel safe, connected, and engaged.

  • Foster a sense of wonder that encourages lifelong curiosity about food, cooking, and the world around them.

3. Inclusion and Belonging

Every child deserves to feel welcomed, respected, and valued. We honor the unique backgrounds, abilities, experiences, and perspectives that each child brings to our program.

We:

  • Foster an environment where every child feels included.

  • Respect cultural traditions and family values surrounding food.

  • Support diverse learning styles and abilities.

  • Treat every child and family with dignity and respect.

4. Hands-On Learning

Children learn best by doing. We create engaging experiences that encourage exploration, creativity, movement, storytelling, and active participation.

We:

  • Encourage age-appropriate participation in every class.

  • Inspire curiosity through play and discovery.

  • Promote independence while maintaining safety.

  • Celebrate confidence as children develop new skills.

  • Create joyful, engaging, and meaningful learning experiences.

5. Respect for Food and Culture

Food is more than nutrition—it connects us to our families, cultures, communities, and the natural world. We encourage children to develop a positive and respectful relationship with food.

We:

  • Speak about food without judgment.

  • Honor diverse food traditions and experiences.

  • Encourage appreciation for where food comes from.

  • Promote curiosity rather than fear around new foods.

  • Model gratitude for the food we prepare and share.

6. Quality and Safety

Providing exceptional experiences begins with maintaining the highest standards of quality, cleanliness, and safety. We are committed to creating learning environments that are organized, welcoming, and safe for every child.

We:

  • Prepare and serve fresh, high-quality ingredients whenever possible.

  • Follow all food safety, sanitation, allergy, and hygiene protocols.

  • Maintain clean, organized, and welcoming classrooms.

  • Care for equipment, supplies, and learning materials responsibly.

  • Minimize food waste and model respect for our resources.

7. Professionalism and Positive Role Modeling

Children learn by watching the adults around them. Our words, actions, and attitudes help shape every learning experience.

We:

  • Treat children, families, schools, and colleagues with kindness and respect.

  • Communicate professionally, clearly, and constructively.

  • Demonstrate patience, integrity, accountability, and reliability.

  • Model the behaviors we hope to inspire.

  • Support one another as teammates and contribute to a positive workplace culture.

8. Excellence and Accountability

We take pride in delivering exceptional experiences for every child, family, and school partner. We are accountable for the quality of our work and the impact we have on those we serve.

We:

  • Arrive prepared, organized, and on time.

  • Follow established curriculum, procedures, and program standards.
